Freiberger files three patent applications for its EV drive and steering platform
Freiberger has filed three patent applications with the Netherlands Patent Office (Octrooicentrum Nederland) for its electric drive and steering platform. They cover the drive layout with motors on the sprung chassis and swing axles, the steerable wheel carrier with portal gearing, and the speed-dependent steering logic, in which the sideways movement fades out smoothly with speed while normal steering stays available.
The applications are numbered NL 4002971, NL 4002972 and NL 4002973. International filings are planned within the priority year.
On the same day the FREIBERGER trademark was filed with the Benelux Office for Intellectual Property and this website went live. Next on the roadmap: the first prototype driving, expected in the fourth quarter of 2026.
